Needle Felted pictures

I have been experimenting with a medium called Needle felting. I have always longed to work with textiles, but have never been confident with sewing.

The needle felting technique allows me to enjoy the delicious range of contrasting textures and colours available, without having to sew at all!

In my first pieces, pictured here, I have included a wide range of fibres included slubbed knitting wools, Merino rovings, Wensleydale curls, silks, including hand dyed cocoons, cotton, bamboo fibre and several textured threads.

Making needle felted pictures is surprisingly quick and appeals to my impatient side!
